This pen is longer than the standard Sailor 1911 Fountain pen.
This was a custom pen made from the factory of Sailor in Japan.
20 were produced in Ivory Resin and another 20 in Maroon Resin in collaboration with Sailor as part of a conservation program to dehorn the wild deer of Hiroshima. In the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Miyajima, there live many wild deer.
To prevent the deer from injuring the residents, tourists, and pilgrims to the shrine at Miyajima, the city of Hatsukaichi will carefully dehorn the deer. Tayama Bungu and Sailor asked the city of Hatsukaichi for some of this deer horn to produce this limited set of 20 in each colour.
Due to the natural material of the deer horn, every pen is unique in colour and texture.
Release is for only Tayama Bungu shop in Hiroshima, made around 2017, barrel wrapping is made of male deer horn. Shape is around 1.5cm longer than normal 1911
This is a new old stock pen it comes in its original box and outer box, what you see in the pictures is what you get.
Named after the company's founding year, the 1911 range was made to maintain the standards of quality and craftsmanship that had made Sailor so well respected from their beginnings. The rounded ends give the 1911 a more classic 'cigar' shape than the Pro Gear range, for those who prefer a more traditional look.
