It is a beautifully shaped, light weight and extremely well-balanced pen with 18K two-tone Solid Gold Size 8 Nib, even-flowing Ebonite Feeder, and Piston Filling system.

Emperor Qian Long (1736-1795)

Emperor Qian Long ascended to the throne at the age of 25.

During his reign, the empire grew to its greatest size. He was a dedicated scholar excelled in both painting and Calligraphy. He spent his entire life collecting all aspect of Chinese art: ancient, tradition and contemporary.

The Emperor Qian Long collections of Chinese art and painting, calligraphy, bronze and antiquities are the largest collections in Chinese art history. In 1772 , Emperor Qian commissioned the “Comprehensive Library of the Four Treasures” This giant collection took ten year-end the involvement of over 5,000 scholars.

Jade has been treasured in China for centuries. Emperor Qian Long had a great fondness for this precious stone. Jade symbolised a gentleman’s spirit and status, for a scholar, everyday use of a Jade pen, Jade seal and Jade paper weight were common in those days.
