Pelikan Maki-e Goldfish Fountain Pen Limited Edition

Pelikan's Goldfish fountain pen is a masterpiece limited to 123 pieces that combines the Japanese tradition of Maki-e art with German engineering. Decorated with goldfish, a symbol of prosperity, and crafted with Togidashi-Taka-Maki-e techniques, it stands out for its detailed craftsmanship and symbolic beauty.

It is based on the M1000 Souverän® model, with an 18-karat gold nib.

These very special Pelikan pens are the ever-reliable piston-filled Souveran pens, made in Germany, but then shipped to Japan to be hand-painted using traditional Maki-e techniques, with the painting built up from layers of coloured lacquers. This pen is inspired by the goldfish.

The goldfish represents prosperity, good fortune, and elegance in Japanese culture, and this intricately-painted goldfish has been etched into multiple layers of urushi lacquer and embellished with gold dust to create an astonishingly detailed design.

A red goldfish is featured on the cap, and a white goldfish on the barrel, both surrounded by decorative water-themed elements of aquatic plants, bubbles and rippling waves.

Every pen comes with the Pelikan logo on the crown as well as its own limited edition number and the signature of the artist drawn by hand.

Fitted with an 18-carat two-tone medium gold nib and presented in a traditional Japanese pen box made of paulownia wood.

Limited to just 123 pieces worldwide. One in stock: 021/123.

Condition: New, Complete.
